Yet another great easy recipe with apples! C'mon, you know what they say about an apple a day.
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. crisco shortening
1/4 c. milk
1 egg
2 c. Total cereal, crushed
1 3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. chopped apples
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg, sifted dry ingredients,milk, the cereal and lastly fold in chopped apples and raisins.
Bake at 350 degrees in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 pan for about 30 minutes.
Makes 36 2 x 1 1/2" bars. If cut this way each bar is approximately 100 calories with 3 grams of fat.
These sound so good! I eat granola bars every day and these sound like the same kind of thing only better. I'll be making these very soon. I love your penguins too! It looks like some partied to hard for Christmas, I wonder what will happen for New Year's Eve!
