Saturday Snapshot: Another oldie!

Snapshot Saturday is hosted by Alyce of At Home with Books. To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.

Another real oldie! I mentioned last Saturday I don't post pics of me on line and Dar from Peeking Between the Pages said she wanted to see one. So, here you go, Dar, as promised - a photo of me and my brother. There are only a handful of photos of me as a kid. I guess my parents were camera challenged. My sister (who was 16 years older than I) probably took this with her little brownie. I am guessing I was about 2 or  3 here and my brother would have been about 10 or 11.

You can see in last week's photo, my dad and I were both towheads when we were very young. Three out of four of  my sister's girls were towheads when they were young also. Ah, if I only had that blonde hair now! *sigh*

  1. Very cute! That photo looks like the ones of me in our albums—black and white with those curly edges.

I didn't have many shots of me (compared to my brother), and my mother always said it was because of the war (WWII) and the difficulty in getting film.

    Hmm.

Several of my grandkids were "tow heads" in their early childhoods and now they aren't.

    Thanks for sharing.

  4. Aww how cute is that?! That's quite an age difference between you two. Your brother must have always seemed 'grown-up' to you ;)

  8. It is such a bummer that blonde hair gets darker as you get older. (I am guessing that is what tow head means:) Love the old photo!

  9. I went back to the photo from last week. Both blonde.
My parents didn't have much time to take pictures, maybe once and a while on a Sunday when some other things were pressing. Busy on a farm. They weren't camera challenged. More time challenged.

  12. There probably aren't many photos of you since you weren't the first child. My parents took a lot more pictures of my sister than they did of me. This picture is adorable!

  13. We have the same problem -- tons of photos of me, far fewer pictures of my younger sister. It's just the way things seem to work. That's an adorable shot, though.

  14. Awwwww, you were so cute! I love this picture. Thank you for posting it for me. Hugs to you. We don't have a lot of pictures from when I was young but some. My mom wasn't much for taking them. I wish I had more of my parents especially when they were kids but mom says film and developing was too expensive and they were quite poor back in the 40's. I think it's great to travel back in time through pictures.

  18. My oldest son was "cotton-headed" as my grandmother would call him - hair as white as could be - it's dark brown now - ocassionally blue when he is in a creative mood! :)
