Ten years ago for our 35th anniversary we went to Spain. Lovely trip! At one of our stops, we bought this hand tooled leather box mainly because I loved the image of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza on the cover. Inside is a set of 55 cards,( 4 suits and 3 jokers) and 5 dice. Each die has J, Q, K, 1 pip, 7 pips and 8 pips on them.
We have no clue what this card game is. No amount of internet search has come up with anything.
Anybody have an idea??
Wish I could help but I have no idea. A lovely leather box though.
ReplyDeleteWow, now you made me curious Kaye. I hope someone comes up with the answer.
ReplyDeleteNo clue but it's such a beautiful box, I'd have gotten one too! Hope you figure it out.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful box and cards. It'll be interesting to see what it's all for.
ReplyDeleteClueless! Curious! Chuckling!
ReplyDeleteI, too, am clueless, but I love the box and the cards. Intriguing....
ReplyDeleteHere's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT
Now that is going to bug me... I love figuring things out but have no clue where to start....:)
ReplyDeleteLike all the rest I am clueless, wouldn't it be funny if the card game was called "Clueless."
ReplyDeleteThe little box and the card holder are cute anyway.
Thanks for visiting my blog yesterday. I am feeling much better today.
No idea, but that really is a lovely box.
ReplyDeleteI lived in Spain for 3 years and don't remember any card games played with die. The leather box is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat an intriguing mystery! You should make up a game. :)
ReplyDeleteWish I knew, but it looks like it could be a fun game. Let us know if you find out.
ReplyDeleteThe box is so beautiful -- and I love that it gave you a mystery :) I found this site that lists a number of combination card and dice games -- perhaps it's one of these! http://www.rinkworks.com/pips/
ReplyDeleteDarn! I thought someone would have come up with the name of the game!!Thanks for dropping by and visiting!
ReplyDeleteThose cards are lovely! You could frame them as artwork all by themselves.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful box! I would have purchased it, too. Great find.
ReplyDeleteSorry I can't help with the name of the game.
No idea, but that is a beautiful box and card set.
ReplyDeleteTarot cards?
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty but I've never seen anything like them before either. Now I want to know what the game is!
ReplyDeleteThe whole set is beautiful! I would have bought it too. :)
ReplyDeleteThe mystery was bugging me as well so I did a search on Google. The dice seem to be Poker Dice (similar to card game) but I'm not sure if the cards are meant to go with the dice or if you just play poker using one or the other. I emailed you a link!
No idea. The box is lovely. Take to the Spanish center and see if they can help.
ReplyDeleteWhen a French friend came to stay with us a few years ago, she brought a game similar to this. My daughter Grace will remember so I'll ask her when she gets back home tonight. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteI have no idea but I would be more than happy to go to Spain for you and ask around!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have no clue what game that is but it sure is beautiful! Now you have me curious about it!
ReplyDeleteI could see why you were attracted to the box and the cards and dice. I'm sure you can invent a game if you can't figure it out!
ReplyDeleteI too would be happy to go to Spain and see what I could find out!
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely no idea but I sure do love that leather box - it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun reading through the comments to see if anyone had figured it out. :) And no, I don't know either. The box is lovely though!
