Not long at all. In fact, the first hawk just swooped down on the railing not far from us and the second one was right after that. It was almost too good to be true! I got to about 6 feet away from them and they stayed there for a few minutes, just enough time to get my shots.
That is so cool.... I'm a bit jealous right now. Earlier in the year I got a really good view of a Bald Eagle sitting in a tree, but didn't have my camera on me. It was only a few blocks away from my house, so I raced home, got the camera, and got to the same spot before the eagle flew away. The only problem, by the time I got to where I needed to be to take a picture, the thing flew off.
