Snapshot Saturday is hosted by Alyce of At Home with Books. To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.
It was an overcast day when we trotted across the boardwalk at Cooter Pond in downtown Podunk. When I put this one on the computer, I was disappointed at the bird but I did like the tree reflections in the water. One of these days, I'm going to have to get a camera with a better zoom.
Gorgeous photos! I love the turtles.
ReplyDeleteThere's probably lots of good eating in that pond. The turtles are fun too! What a great sculpture.
ReplyDeleteThey're still cool photos!! My camera has been giving me fits and I have been trying to nonchalantly giving my hubby hints that I want a new camera. So far it hasn't worked!!
ReplyDeleteI would love a better camera, too! But sometimes you get fascinating pictures from afar. Love the ripples in the water...and the turtles.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
Have to say I like seeing the birds in their surroundings instead of a closeup. Great pics, Kaye.
ReplyDeleteThe turtles are really funny.
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean about the other pictures though. Still, when they don't turn out the way you want it's nice when you get an unexptected bonus like the reflected tress.
Those turtles are way too cute! I do like your bird photos. The reflections give the photo a very peaceful quality.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. I always have such a hard time getting good reflections in my water shots, but these are great! Love the turtles, too.
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely photos even if the bird is far away. I want a better zoom too.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the turtles. Sometimes our camera doesn't see things the way we do.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing photos from parts of the world I've never been to. These are very nice. I love the turtles.
ReplyDeleteI could still see the birds, but I can see why you'd want a closer zoom. My issues are usually with indoor lighting (and lack of it - especially in my living room).
ReplyDeleteI echo all the sentiments about the camera frustrations. Other people seem to have the best cameras! I still think the bird came out well. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteOh I do love your Florida photos! They turned out beautiful! What I would give for a walk in that park right now...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got me interested in this meme. I have always loved taking photos and have a few cameras myself. I enjoy playing with them and trying new things. I have zoom lenses but would like one even stronger. I like to organize and enhance my photos in Picasa as well. It's not Photoshop but it's free and I use it all the time. :)
Looks like a fun day! It's turtles all the way down...
ReplyDeleteI think they are great photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely shots Kaye -- the turtles are too cute. I didn't participate today as I was busy with the Literary Blog Hop Giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
The tree reflections are great! Sometimes it's nice to be surprised with a picture you weren't quite expecting.
ReplyDeleteHere's my snapshot: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2012/02/saturday-snapshot-valentine-flowers.html
Don't be disappointed in the bird... that photo is a very nice landscape of the pond with the bird as an accent. And the turtle sculpture is very cool.
ReplyDeleteLove the turtle sculpture! I like the pond shots. The bird is a little accent with a pretty cool reflection!
ReplyDeleteMy son would be laying on top of those turtles! And a better zoom is a good investment!
ReplyDeleteLove the turtles! This Podunk is quite the place!
