Saturday Snapshot: Reflections

Snapshot Saturday is hosted by Alyce of At Home with Books. To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.

It was an overcast day when we trotted across the boardwalk at Cooter Pond in downtown Podunk. When I put this one on the computer, I was disappointed at the bird but I did like the tree reflections in the water. One of these days, I'm going to have to get a camera with a better zoom.

  1. There's probably lots of good eating in that pond. The turtles are fun too! What a great sculpture.

  2. They're still cool photos!! My camera has been giving me fits and I have been trying to nonchalantly giving my hubby hints that I want a new camera. So far it hasn't worked!!

  3. I would love a better camera, too! But sometimes you get fascinating pictures from afar. Love the ripples in the water...and the turtles.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  4. Have to say I like seeing the birds in their surroundings instead of a closeup. Great pics, Kaye.

  5. The turtles are really funny.
I see what you mean about the other pictures though. Still, when they don't turn out the way you want it's nice when you get an unexptected bonus like the reflected tress.

  7. Lovely photos. I always have such a hard time getting good reflections in my water shots, but these are great! Love the turtles, too.

  8. They are lovely photos even if the bird is far away. I want a better zoom too.

  9. I especially like the turtles. Sometimes our camera doesn't see things the way we do.

  11. I could still see the birds, but I can see why you'd want a closer zoom. My issues are usually with indoor lighting (and lack of it - especially in my living room).

  12. I echo all the sentiments about the camera frustrations. Other people seem to have the best cameras! I still think the bird came out well. Here's Mine

  13. Oh I do love your Florida photos! They turned out beautiful! What I would give for a walk in that park right now...

I'm glad you got me interested in this meme. I have always loved taking photos and have a few cameras myself. I enjoy playing with them and trying new things. I have zoom lenses but would like one even stronger. I like to organize and enhance my photos in Picasa as well. It's not Photoshop but it's free and I use it all the time. :)

  15. What lovely shots Kaye -- the turtles are too cute. I didn't participate today as I was busy with the Literary Blog Hop Giveaway.

    Have a great week.

  17. Don't be disappointed in the bird... that photo is a very nice landscape of the pond with the bird as an accent. And the turtle sculpture is very cool.
